Borderline Anorexia
What is it? Well, not in all accounts, borderline anorexia isn't exactly anorexia. It is more like people who are so close to being anorexic without getting the official diagnosis. They are living on the edge of actually getting full-blown anorexia nervosa. They are very underweight still, but are just able to be undetected by doctors, parents, and anyone else. Borderline anorexica are able to maintain just a little bit of control on their disease so they won't be considered as having Anorexia Nervosa. Yet these people are just as much anorexics as those diagnosed. They are very much anorexic in their eating habits, way of thinking, self-critisicm, and physical health.

Symptoms
By not eating for long periods of time, people with anorexia or borderline anorexia risk having chronic lower immune system functioning, permanent bone loss, infertility, dental problems, weakened muscle tissue, and increased risk of suffering many ailments that they would not otherwise succum to. They are at a high risk for fractures, sprains and broken bones. Picture this...a borderline anorexic in a car crash...they would suffer from more problems than someone of the same age who didn't under-feed themselves. Also, people with borderline anorexia suffer from many mental and psychological problems, whether they will admit it or not! They have a variety of things such as very low self-esteem, high & constant self-criticism, perfectionism (when they demand perfection from themself), depression, anxiety, social isolation, harsh self-judgement, a loss of the ability to enjoy things. I would know because I have most definately suffered from ALL of those. It is not fun. Trust me.
